Lake Placid Airport

The Lake Placid Municipal Airport is about one mile south of the village on Route 73. Hours of operation: 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. daily. 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. in July & August. Runway: 4,200 feet. Services: Air Charter flights from most airports, scenic flights, tie down, and repairs. 518-523-2473.

 

Plattsburgh International Airport
Airport Identifier: PBG

Regional carrier SkyWest, a United subsidiary, flies 50-seat regional jets twice daily to Washington/Dulles airport. From Plattsburgh, it’s only a 50 mile / one hour drive to the Mirror Lake Inn that takes you from Lake Champlain into the Adirondacks. Adirondack Regional Airport
Airport Identifier: SLK

The Adirondack Regional Airport provides direct service between Boston and Saranac Lake via Cape Air, a United partner, with Hertz rentals awaiting your arrival. Located in Lake Clear, 16 miles from Lake Placid, it offers easy access to the entire region. Commercial flights available through Cape Air: 800-352-0714 or www.flycapeair.com. Rail Service

Amtrak operates between New York City and Montreal – local stop in Westport, N.Y. (40 miles from Lake Placid). For information call 1-800-USA-RAIL. Shuttle bus service to Lake Placid must be arranged with a reservation: 518-523-0294. For ski/train packages to Lake Placid, have your travel agent call GoGo Tours at 1-800-225-6815.

Other stops along Lake Champlain include Ticonderoga, Port Henry, and Port Kent.
