LAKE PLACID – Towns and villages across the Tri-Lakes area will celebrate with July 4 activities throughout the week.

The July 4 activities week kicks off with the Songs at Mirror Lake music series. Every Tuesday night, for seven straight weeks in Mid’s Park on Main Street, locals and visitors can enjoy a different genre of music. On July 2, the David Bromberg Quintet presents roots night at 7 PM. All events are free to the public.

Seven consecutive Tuesday nights in Mid’s Park with a different genre of music

The Olympic village of Lake Placid will set the night to music on July 4 with a fireworks display after dark over Mirror Lake. Prior to that, there’s a parade down Main Street at 5:00, followed by a free concert at 7 PM in Mid’s Park featuring the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. Residents and visitors can also enjoy the I Love NY Horse Show throughout the week and the Lake Placid Summit Youth (Lacrosse) Classic July 1-3.

Among the July 4 activities in Saranac Lake, the community will host their professional baseball team Surge’s first home game of the season at 1 PM. There’s nothing more American than baseball on July 4. Saranac Lake will host a parade at 10 a.m. and fireworks at dusk on July 4.

Lake Placid welcomes the I Love BBQ and Music Festival from 11 AM – 9 PM on July 5 -6, and 11 AM – 5 PM on July 7. The event, on the Olympic skating oval, raises needed funds for the Shipman Youth Center, and features The Best Ribs in the East, numerous competitions, BMX bike exhibitions, Strongman Invitational, bounce house, coconut tree and more.

July 4 activities in Tupper Lake will include the first concert at The Tupper Lake Bandshell with live music from 5:30 – 8:30 followed by fireworks at the Tupper Lake Municipal Park.

Jay will host a parade at noon, July 4. Crafts, games, bingo, a silent auction and children’s activities will run throughout the day. Fireworks will be at dusk.

Wilmington will host live music at the town beach at 6 PM on July 4.

And of course, your favorite recreational July 4 activities – hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, running, golf, tennis and more – remain available as always.

Also, there are a myriad of July4 activities in and around the Mirror Lake Inn.
