Twenty-Seven Years of AAA Distinction for the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa

AAA Northway CEO presented Four Diamond Award for hotel and The View restaurant

Lake Placid, N.Y. (June 17, 2011) - The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa has received the Four Diamond Lodging Award from the American Automobile Association (AAA) for the 27th consecutive year.  The Mirror Lake Inn Resort & Spa is the longest running AAA Four Diamond hotel outside of New York City. Four Diamond lodgings account for just 4 percent of the more than 31,000 AAA rated lodgings.

The Inn's restaurant, The View, also celebrates its fourth consecutive year of the AAA Four-Diamond rating. It is one of only ten AAA Four Diamond restaurants outside of New York City.  Four Diamond restaurants account for just 2.8 percent of the 27,000 AAA rated restaurants.

Restaurants and lodging establishments must undergo a thorough inspection to be considered for AAA rating and approval.  The lodging evaluation assesses everything from the range of facilities, amenities and services offered by the property as well as stringent quality requirements. Judging for restaurants represents a combination of the overall food, service, décor, and ambiance offered by the establishment.

This approval provides travelers a trusted, independent rating used when selecting accommodations and restaurants.  As cited from a recent study conducted by InsightExpress, "AAA Diamond ratings are the third attribute travelers consider when selecting vacation accommodations. Price was the leading attribute, with 85 percent of travelers citing its importance, followed by the presence of a pool (52%) and AAA ratings (49%)."

AAA Northway President and CEO, Jim Phelps, presented the Mirror Lake Inn and owners, Ed and Lisa Weibrecht, with their awards on Thursday, June 16, 2011.  Many of the Mirror Lake Inn's 180 member staff was in attendance.
