The View Restaurant at the Mirror Lake Inn Announces New Executive Chef
Jarrad Lang Promoted To Executive Chef
Lake Placid, (Nov. 29, 2010) - The View Restaurant at the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa announces the promotion of Jarrad Lang to Executive Chef. Lang joined The View's culinary team in the summer of 2008 and is a graduate of Paul Smith's College.
Previous to the Mirror Lake Inn, Lang worked his way from line cook to Executive Chef over a five-year period with the Hotel Saranac in Saranac Lake, NY. He brings a wealth of experience to his new post, having developed his skills in restaurants from Boston to France and particularly in the kitchens of such well known French chefs as Marc Meneau and Alain Passard.
Lang's understanding of good food and cooking traditions can be traced to his childhood on the family farm in Crown Point where he learned the importance of fresh and natural foods. Today, he continues to value his early lessons on the farm and remains committed to cooking with foods produced in the region.
Lang and The View's entire culinary team continue to work with a variety of local and regional meat, cheese and vegetable producers and processors to obtain the best products. Together they review the practices and techniques employed in local food production, actually visiting farms and inspecting products and evaluating quality standards. Acquiring the best products guarantees guests a memorable, flavorful and healthy dining experience that they have come to expect at The View.
Lang resides in Saranac Lake with his fiancé.
