The View Restaurant Announces Veterans' Day Late Harvest Dinner
Portion of wine sales to support injured American soldiers
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (November 4, 2010) - The View Restaurant at the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa celebrates the harvest season on Thursday November 11, at 6:30pm with a memorable Lake Placid dining event created by Garde Mangers Kacie Nowalk and Kevin Carkey.
The event honors our nation's veterans and their devoted service to our country. Guests will enjoy a gourmet meal featuring Collavini and Pertinace wines presented by Doug MacLeod of Mionetto, USA.
The Inn is partnering with Collavini wines and together they are supporting the Operation Heroes & Hounds Program which donates a portion of sales of every bottle sold. This program is dedicated to saving the lives of injured American soldiers through the helping paws of homeless canines.
Operation Heroes & Hounds' presents injured members of the United States military with the unique opportunity of coaching and living with shelter dogs. The focus of the program is on personal transformation through The Loved DogTM method, a playful and nonaggressive approach to canine coaching. Both service members and shelter dogs learn a new set of skills that will make a positive impact on their future.
The Late Harvest Dinner menu will feature specialty items and seasonal favorites prepared with the finest ingredients. The View's culinary team uses fresh regional organics whenever possible and takes special care to ensure the restaurant's entrees come from hormone- and antibiotic-free meats and products, providing guests with a memorable, flavorful and healthy dining experience.
