Mirror Lake Inn to host Fourth Annual Culinary Event
Adirondack Food & Wine Festial March 26-29
Lake Placid, New York (March 16, 2009) - - Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa is pleased to announce it will be hosting its fourth annual Adirondack Festival of Food and Wine March 26-29. The three day food and wine event will feature wine tastings, culinary demonstrations, a cooking competition and more.
During the festival, the Inn's Executive Chef Greg Michaud will be joined by several highly-accomplished visiting chefs along with two local favorites: Chef Kevin Gregg from Caffé Rustica and Chef Richard Brosseau from Interlaken. Also on hand will be the makers of Lake Placid's new vodka, P3, as well as the brew masters of UBU ale from The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery.
"Inviting more local businesses within our food and wine community has always been the intention of this festival, so we are thrilled with our new local participants," said Mary Jane Lawrence, Marketing Director, of the Mirror Lake Inn. "The festival has become a popular destination event for the Inn and we believe it still has a lot of growth potential for our community as a whole." Rivermede Farm and South Meadow Farm Lodge & Maple Sugar Works will also be part of the festival along with several highly-regarded New York State wineries and representatives from Hudson Valley Foie Gras.
Culinary themes and highlights of this year's demonstrations include: "Farm-to-Table" cooking and "The Slow Food Movement," "How to pair Cheese and Wine like the Professionals," "Tempting your Senses with Confections," bread baking demonstrations, wine tastings and more. Chef Paul Sorgule, the Inn's former Executive Chef and now Vice President for Education at New England Cuinary Institute will be returning to the Inn to participate in the festival.
The Mirror Lake Inn is pleased to extend an invitation to local residents to take part in some of the highlights of the festival. On Friday evening, there is the Grand Tasting of Wine from Around the World paired with food samplings for $90 per person and on Saturday evening Seven-course Tasting Dinner for $110 per person.
