Mirror Lake Inn Voted One of the Top 500 World's Best Hotels by Travel & Leisure Magazine

Mirror Lake Inn makes Travel & Leisure 500 list for the fourth year

Lake Placid, N.Y., (December 16, 2010) - The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa has been selected as one of the 2011"Top 500 World's Best Hotels" by Travel + Leisure magazine readers.  The results of the annual "World's Best" poll appear in the December issue of Travel + Leisure, on newsstands now.

Additionally from Lake Placid, The Whiteface Lodge made the list. The two Lake Placid hotels are among only three in New York state located outside of New York City, the third being the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles. This is the fourth year the Mirror Lake Inn has received this recognition.

In its ninth year, the survey results are derived from the 2010 World's Best Awards.  Readers completed an online or magazine questionnaire and rated hotels on characteristics including rooms and facilities, location, service, restaurants and food, and value.  Other categories in the World's Best awards include cities, islands, cruises, airlines, spas and business hotels. The Mirror Lake Inn continues to acquire a reputation of excellence with accolades from leading hospitality organizations. In addition to this most recent award, in November the Inn was selected by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the "Top 50 Ski Hotels in North America" and as one of the "Top 100 Large Resorts in the Mainland, U.S." in the annual Best in the World Readers' Choice Awards.  In April 2010, the Inn was honored as one of Conde Nast Traveler's Top 240 Spas worldwide.  The Inn also appeared in the Conde Nast Traveler Gold List, a directory of the world's best hotels and resorts, in 2009, 2008.

In August, the Mirror Lake Inn was voted one of Travel + Leisure's Top 50 Resorts in the U.S./Canada, while in January the Inn was selected as one of the Travel + Leisure 500 World's Best.
