Mirror Lake Inn Voted One of 'Top 50 Resorts in U.S./Canada'

Travel + Leisure Reveals Winners in Annual World's Best Awards

Lake Placid (July 15, 2010) - Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards will be featured in the magazine's August issue, on news-stands from July 23, 2010, and now posted online. The publication revealed the winners in an announcement Monday.

The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa has been recognized by Travel + Leisure readers as one of the Top 50 Resorts in US/Canada.  Additionally from the Lake Placid, The Whiteface Lodge made the list. The two resorts are the only two in the Northeast - the closest being The Greenbrier in West Virginia.  This is the third year in a row the Mirror Lake Inn has received this recognition.  

For 15 years, Travel + Leisure has put together their World's Best Awards for the top hotels, destinations, airlines, cruises, outfitters, and transportation companies in the world based on reader votes. Their 2010 poll yielded a record number of votes.

The annual Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards, one of the highest distinctions in the travel industry, are based on the opinions of Travel + Leisure readers, who rated hotels, islands, airlines, spas, rental-car agencies, cities, cruise lines, and tour operators and safari outfitters around the world to affirm the world's best in travel. This year's awards will be bestowed on July 21, 2010 in New York City at an awards ceremony hosted by Editor-in-Chief Nancy Novogrod and VP / Publisher Jean-Paul Kyrillos.

The Mirror Lake Inn continues to acquire a reputation of excellence with accolades from leading hospitality organizations. In January, the Mirror Lake Inn was also selected as one of the T&L 500 World's Best.
