Press Releases11/03/2010 Lake Placid Readies for Holiday Village Stroll Event Dec. 10-12Local orientation meeting set for November 22Lake Placid, NY (November 3, 2010) - On December 10-12, 2010, the village of Lake Placid will magically come alive with a weekend of holiday festivities during the 3rd annual Holiday Village Stroll. The Holiday Village Stroll Committee has been busy planning this destination weekend for Lake Placid and is very pleased with the increase in local participation and support for the 2010 edition.As the annual event approaches, the Holiday Village Stroll Committee is offering a series of brief orientation meetings to discuss the weekend's festivities. Hosted by Milano North Restaurant, information sessions will be held Monday, Nov. 22, at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. The meetings will last approximately thirty minutes and will provide local businesses, employees and community members with details on scheduled events and activities. Additionally, day passes to Whiteface Mountain will be given away to a few lucky winners at each meeting. Each year, the Holiday Village Stroll gains more momentum, incorporating new activities, decorations and building wider community involvement. This winter, the event features new webpages and domain (www.holidayvillagestroll.com), as well as a logo, social media presence and PR effort. Price Chopper, Adworkshop, regional Office of Sustainable Tourism/Lake Placid CVB/, State Farm Insurance, Lake Placid Business Association, and Coca-Cola are sponsors of this year's event. Local businesses are encouraged to get involved and offer something unique to celebrate the community and promote the spirit of the holidays. Saturday, December 11th All Day Local stores will have special events & promotions all day on Saturday. *11:00-11:30 am *Free Holiday Story Time at Mirror Lake Inn. *12:00-1:00 pm *Santa arrives on a Fire Truck at Mid's Park (Located at the center of Main Street). *10:00-2:00 pm *Lake Placid Farmer's Market at the LPCA. *1:00-2:30 pm *Free Children's Holiday Crafts at High Peaks Resort. 12:00-2:30 pm Holiday "TASTINGS" at area restaurants. *2:30-4:30 pm *Free Gift Wrapping & Wine Tasting at The Pines Inn while children watch Free Holiday Movies. *5:00 pm *Holiday Tree Lighting & Santa at Mid's Park with a special performance by LPHS Chorus. 7:30 pm The Nutcracker Ballet at the LPCA.
