Lake Placid Memory Contest

Sunrise Swim, A Broken Promise, and Stolen Moments come out on top

Lake Placid, N.Y. – The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa, the Adirondack’s premier luxury lakefront resort, recently announced the winners of “Your Best Mirror Lake Inn Memory Contest.”

It was a pleasant idea. If guests wanted to share memories of their stay at Mirror Lake Inn, their essays would be posted on a special Web site for the public to select the most interesting submission.

“This pleasant idea, however, actually flooded our memory bank”, said Ed Weibrecht, proprietor, Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa. “Within 16 weeks, nearly 100 guest essays arrived from eleven different states and two Canadian provinces.”

On June 1, the winners were announced. First prize went to Matt M. from Jericho Vermont. His Sunrise Swim describes how his two-year old daughter’s prompting resulted in an unforgettable pre-dawn family swim in the still waters of Mirror Lake.
