Lake Placid Hotel Announces Five New Winter Packages

Mirror Lake Inn Offers Special Winter Packages

LAKE PLACID, NY (October 19, 2010) - The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa, the only Four Diamond Lake Placid hotel, is offering seasonal packages aimed at ensuring guests get the most out of the winter season.  Adorned with 300,000 twinkling lights, the Inn provides guests a storybook setting just steps away from the two-time Olympic village of Lake Placid. The area is an ideal winter vacation destination with authentic outdoor adventure and world class skiing at Whiteface ski resort.  Special winter packages include:

The Holiday Village Stroll package

The Holiday Village Stroll family package includes accommodations in a classic room for a family of four, a hearty Adirondack breakfast with Santa, $50 in holiday shopping dollars, holiday story time, holiday crafts, and skating on Mirror Lake (weather dependent). Rates start at $299 per night, $549 for a two night stay. The Holiday Village Stroll takes place in Lake Placid December 10-12, 2010.  Add on the Santa turn-down service, complete with cookies and milk.

The Adirondack Foodie package

The Adirondack Foodie package will provide guests with a memorable experience complete with Adirondack flavors. Executive Chef Tom Morris and his culinary team work closely with local and regional meat producers and cheese and vegetable producers to provide an authentic food experience. Guests will enjoy accommodations in a classic room, breakfast in the morning and dinner one evening in The View, the only Four Diamond Lake Placid restaurant, and a gourmet backpack lunch to venture and experience the Adirondack outdoors.  Rates starts at $360 per night.

The "Warm and Cozy" package

Charm, warmth and romance manifested by the inn's cozy corners and crackling fires, provide the ideal ambience for an intimate getaway. The "Warm and Cozy" package, designed for couples, includes two nights of accommodations in a classic room, breakfast each morning, dinner for two one night, two spa services, two suite robes, and a Mirror Lake Inn CD of relaxing music. At their leisure each day, guests can venture from the cozy Inn and enjoy the Adirondack Park with gourmet backpack lunch featuring local products. Rates start at $855 for a two night stay.

The Adirondack Outing package

The Adirondack Outing package is designed to provide a taste of the Adirondacks and the equipment to take in the winter wonderland of Lake Placid.  The package includes a gourmet backpack lunch featuring products from local farms and use of snow shoes with trail recommendations.  It also includes accommodations in a classic room and a $50 credit towards a spa treatment or meal at one of the inn's three restaurants. Rates start at $295 per night.

Olympic Medal Family package

While it may not be an Olympic year, the Olympic spirit forever lives on in Lake Placid. As the home of two Olympic winter games, Lake Placid provides history, world-class facilities and one-of-a-kind experiences.  Andrew Weibrecht, son of the Inn's owners Ed and Lisa, won a bronze medal in the 2010 Vancouver Games in alpine skiing. In the Olympic spirit and in celebration of his victory, the Inn is offering the Olympic Family package.  For a family of four, the package includes accommodations, ski passes and Olympic passports for two adults and two children, backpack lunch to take to the mountain, an autographed picture of Andrew, and souvenir Olympic medals for the kids. Rates starting at $441 per night, three night minimum.
