Author Robin Antalek to Speak at Local Author's Night On October 28
Local Book Clubs Welcome Author of 'The Summer We Fell Apart' at Mirror Lake Inn
LAKE PLACID, NY (October 12, 2010) - The Lake Placid and Saranac Lake Book Clubs will welcome author, Robin Antalek to the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa's Author's Night at 6:30 p.m. October 28, 2010. Antalek will discuss and answer questions about her debut novel, The Summer We Fell Apart.A Saratoga Springs based author, Antalek has been published in numerous literary journals and has twice been a finalist in Glimmer Train's Family Matters and Short Story Award for New Writers contest. She has also been a finalist for the Bellingham Review's Tobias Wolff Award for Short Fiction and the Hudson Valley Writers Guild Award for Short Fiction. She studied fiction writing at the New York State Writer's Institute at the State University of New York at Albany.
The novel tells the story of the Haas family from the perspective of four siblings and their mother. Spanning 15 years, the novel touches on the themes of love, loss and family ties. Antalek will be autographing books following the reception.
In honor of Antalek's literary accomplishment, the Mirror Lake Inn is offering "The Author's Night Package," which includes accommodations and tickets to the author's reception. This one-night only package is $169 based on double occupancy. In addition, the Spa is accepting appointments for a 50-minute Swedish Massage, Classic Facial or Maple Sugar Body Scrub for $75 available only October 28 and 29.
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $20 per person and include appetizers.
