In addition to our excellent company benefits, the area in which the Mirror Lake Inn is located, is a benefit in itself. The Inn is located only 2 minutes walking time from Main St. in the two-time Olympic Village of Lake Placid, New York.

The area is a spectacular place to raise a family, not only for its beauty and activities, but it is a very safe place to live. If you decide to live in Lake Placid your commute will be less than 5 minutes unless you decide to walk.

All the venues from the 1980 Olympics are available for athlete training and in most cases, are open to the public. You can watch ski jumping (summer and winter), take a bobsled and luge ride (summer and winter), skate on the oval where Eric Heiden won 5 gold medals and on the rink where the “Miracle on Ice” took place. Activities include downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, indoor and outdoor skating, ice climbing, ice fishing, rock climbing, camping, hiking, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, whitewater rafting, fishing, golfing, swimming, horseback riding, biking, rollerblading, and several cultural organizations and events.

The Inn and the Village overlook the High Peaks region of the Adirondack Park including Mt. Marcy the highest mountain in New York State. The Adirondack Park, at 6.1 million acres (larger than Yellowstone and Yosemite put together) is made up of public and private land. Much of the land has been declared forever wild and will stay that way forever unless the New York State Constitution is changed. What distinguishes the Adirondacks from other mountainous areas in North America is its abundance of water. There are more than 30,000 miles of brooks and streams, 6,000 miles of rivers, and nearly 3,000 lakes and ponds. The larger lakes include the 121-mile-long Lake Champlain, which runs along the eastern border of the Park, Lake Placid, and Schroon Lake. The origin of the Hudson River can be found on the shoulder of Mount Marcy at the pristine Lake Tear of the Clouds.

We invite you to come live, work and have fun in this spectacular area.
