LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Two of the top fantasy camps in the nation are set to begin in a matter of days in Lake Placid.
The most beloved team of our lifetime – the 1980 United States Olympic Hockey Team – will bring 16 members and assistant coach Craig Patrick back to the Olympic Center in Lake Placid when the second annual Miracle on Ice Fantasy Camp takes place starting April 3.
They will be joined by some 60 fantasy camp attendees from across the country, ranging in age from 28-68.
The second of the fantasy camps is offered by the U.S. Olympic Luge Team.
Is it me, or is our Adirondack Easter sneaking up on us?
They say March 27 is pretty early. Typically, Easter Sunday is associated with warm weather and bonnets, and normally, an early Adirondack Easter would definitely not include bonnets, unless they were made of fleece with ear flaps. But in the warmer-than-usual winter of 2015-2016, who’s to say. The word on Easter Sunday indicates sunny conditions with temps in the upper 50s. In fact, it will be a beautiful spring weekend in these parts with Saturday coming in with sunny and 50 degree weather.
WILMINGTON, N.Y. – It’s 5:15 PM as I write this and there’s still plenty of daylight outside my window. That’s what we love about March, and in particular, March skiing and riding.
Longer days with higher sun means we reach for the SPF 50 and the heavy duty shades that filter out the ultra-violet rays. Now that’s what we call a good problem to have as spring skiing has finally arrived.
