Although the weather remains mild in Lake Placid and surrounding areas, we know that eventually the temps will turn and so will the leaves. It’s that time of the year when, magically, the green of summer changes to the red and orange of fall foliage.

Peak fall foliage in Lake Placid hits in mid October

Kaileigh Moore, a former member of the Mirror Lake Inn’s front desk team, can’t wait for this time of the year. It’s her fav, by her own admission.

Kaileigh knows all the right spots for hiking into the changing fall foliage, and recently wrote what amounts to a white paper on foliage in this part of the world. She was gracious enough to let us share her insights with our audience.
