LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - Tim Conley shot the low score of the tournament on Thursday - 5 under-par 66 - and holds a two stroke advantage over defending champion Javier Sanchez heading into the final round of the Adirondack Senior Open golf tournament.

The 54-hole event is the Northern-most stop on the Sunbelt Senior Tour.

Conley shot 2-under 69 Wednesday for a two-day total of 7-under par 135 on the 6,500 yard Whiteface Club and Resort course.

The Gainesville, Ga. golfer posted five birdies and an eagle en route to his 66 on a sunny, but windy day along the shores of Lake Placid.

Sanchez, of Mexico, added a second round 68 to his opening 69 and holds second place at 5-under par 137.

Five players are tied for third at 3-under par 139.

Rick Schuller, of Chester, Va., was five under par for the tournament after birdieing 11-12-13-15. But the effort of the 2009 PGA Professional Player of the Year was derailed with bogeys on the two closing par fives.

Tom Eubank, of Ellijay, Ga., one of the Sunbelt Tour's managing partners, closed with birdies on 17 and 18, and fired 68 to go with Wednesday's even par 71.

John Elliott, of Crystal River, Fla., backed up his Wednesday 70 by finishing with birdies on the final three holes for a 2-under 69.

Jim Chancey's 139 saw him open with even par 71. Thursday's trip around the Whiteface Club featured a clean scorecard as the Altamonte Springs, Fla. golfer recorded three birdies and no bogeys for a 68.

Gary Rusnak, of Orangeburg, S.C., had a second-day 68 bringing him to 139 as well.

Opening round leader Mark Bucek, of Winter Park, Fla., slipped to one over par 72 on Thursday and is five shots behind at 140.

Danny Edwards, of Scottsdale, Ariz., is cruising with a 10-shot lead despite a sluggish start on Thursday that saw him bogey three of the first four holes. The five-time PGA Tour winner rebounded, however, playing the final 14 holes in three under par and concluded the day with a level par 71. With his Wednesday 69, Edwards stands at 2 under par 140.

Dave Parnell and Gary Odom are tied for second at 150. Parnell, of San Diego, has turned in rounds of 76-74, while Odom, of Greenwood, S.C., has scores of 74-76.

Final round action commences Friday morning at 8:00. Spectators are invited free of charge. An award ceremony will immediately follow the conclusion of play.
