The Adirondack's finest resort is tops in the Northeast with the readers of Conde Nast Traveler

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. - The readers of Conde Nast Traveler have spoken: Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa is the number one resort in the Northeast.

In its rating of the 20 best properties in the region, the AAA-rated Four Diamond resort, and accompanying Four Diamond restaurant, The View, on the shores of Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, received the highest honors.

The magazine's Readers' Choice Rating scored the Mirror Lake Inn at 94 out of 100 points. The listing is found in Conde Nast Traveler's Best in the World issue, soon to appear on newsstands.

"This endorsement by our guests is both humbling and gives us an uplifting measure of pride in what the Mirror Lake Inn brand is all about," said owner Ed Weibrecht. "The readers of Conde Nast Traveler are the most discerning guests and have an eye for detail, hospitality and service. This means that our employees continue to do a wonderful job in making guests feel as if they are at home. I want to thank the staff for all they do, and for going the extra mile in making such favorable impressions."

Nearly 29,000 responded to the Conde Nast Traveler query, which included judging categories of rooms, service, food, design, activities and location. The Mirror Lake Inn's average score from all six criteria was 94, with all scores in the 90s. It received a grade of 95.1 for service. There was a five-point scale within each criterion.

"We are grateful to our resort guests and Conde Nast Traveler readers that have blessed us with their comments and feedback," stated owner Lisa Weibrecht, Ed's wife. "Without such a dedicated staff, this would never be possible. This honor is a true reflection of their dedication."

The publication included comments from guests of the Mirror Lake Inn.

"Its' picture perfect views are amazing....We always have a wonderful experience thanks to MLI's dedicated, knowledgeable and courteous staff," said Mary Jane A., of Virginia.

"Love this place! Gorgeous fireplace in rooms and decor. Beautiful views, lovely spa and indoor pool. The service here was great, everyone was friendly," wrote L.R. from Calif.

Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa's overall reader rating of 94 placed it ahead of such iconic properties as the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Fla.; Four Seasons in Vail, Colo.; The Lodge at Pebble Beach, Calif.; the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler, B.C., Canada; the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, Canada; Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah; The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vt.; Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vt.; Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vt.; Little Nell in Aspen, Colo.; the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek, Colo.; and Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah.
