From the Adirondacks to South America: Andrew Weibrecht back on snow09/20/2012 PORTILLO, Chile - Olympic bronze medalist Andrew Weibrecht, shortly after his Sept. 2 wedding at the Whiteface Club and Resort in Lake Placid, returned to a U.S. Ski Team training camp in this South American resort. Andrew is the son of Mirror Lake Inn owners Ed and Lisa Weibrecht.
Weibrecht, who medaled in Super G at the Vancouver Winter Games, joined other speed skiers on the American team for the two week session.
A hometown parade for Andrew after winning his Vancouver medal The 26 year old speed merchant was in touch with us this afternoon and passed along the following comments from Portillo. "We've just been getting into training again. "There isn't a whole lot of snow this year, but the weather has actually been pretty cold so we haven't lost much since we've been here. Hopefully it'll stick around until the end of the camp a week from Saturday. "They are closing the mountain a week early to the public so we will have the place to ourselves starting this Sunday, which will open up the training opportunities. "Other than that just chugging along. Hope that all is well back there."
