A long weekend honoring Martin Luther King, Junior comes to an end in the Adirondacks
Before a trip home, some people had to take a few final laps around the Olympic Oval in Lake Placid.
The kids can't get enough of the venue where Eric Heiden won 5 Olympic gold medals in 1980. Some others, however, have to think about it first outside the skate room. The Olympic Center, site of the 1980 Miracle on Ice, is in the background.
When it's over we come inside, change into walking boots, and start thinking about dinner.
There are multiple public skating sessions on weekends and holidays. Weeknight hours are from 7-9 PM (closed Tues and Wed nights during non-holiday periods).
